About Deryck Webb

Deryck Webb was born and brought up in West Wales. He read Theology at St David's College, Lampeter, and, after a short spell as a lay-clerk at Bristol Cathedral, he became a student at the Birmingham Conservatoire, first as a pupil of the soprano Margaret Thomas and then with the tenor John Mitchenson. In 1988 he joined the English National Opera Company as a chorister, undertaking numerous roles and cover-roles in addition. He left there in 1992 to follow a career as a soloist. He now lives in France.
