The programme will include choral and solo pieces from Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Macbeth, and Don Carlos (Verdi), Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Idomeneo, and Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail (Mozart), Tosca and La Boheme (Puccini), Fidelio (Beethoven) and Der Rosenkavalier (Richard Strauss). The concert will conclude with the Triumph Scene from Verdi's Aida.
Soloists will include sopranos Sue Riley, Louise Hillier, Paula Grossman and Dawn Rolt, mezzo soprano Louise Tucker, tenors Jeremy Valentine and David Menezes and baritones Colin Anthony and Christopher Wright. The whole programme will be accompanied by The Chiswick Choir's inimitable Jan Cunningham. |
