About Christopher Wright

Christopher Wright (Bass Baritone) is a regular performer with the Chiswick Choir. In addition to a growing number of oratorio performances of Mozart's Requiem and Solemn Vespers, Howell's Requiem, Carissimi's Jonah, Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb, Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Handel's Messiah and Dixit Dominus, Purcell's Dido & Aeneas, Finzi's Lo the Full Final Sacrifice, Bach's solo cantata Ich habe genug, and most recently Bach's St John Passion (Jesus) Chris is a keen opera singer, with 25 lead roles under his belt, in London and on tour. His operatic repertoire includes Mephistopheles (Faust), Daland (The Flying Dutchman), Osmin (Seraglio), Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), Papageno (The Magic Flute), Leporello (Don Giovanni), Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), Dr Bartolo (The Barber of Seville), The King (Aida), Superintendent Budd (Albert Herring), Dr Miracle (The Tales of Hoffmann), Colline (La Bohème), Wurm (Luisa Miller), Raimbaud (Count Ory), Sparafucile & Monterone (Rigoletto).

Chris also performs in concerts of operatic excerpts, including Gounod's Faust, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Bizet's Pearl Fishers, Verdi's Nabucco and a selection of Gilbert & Sullivan items. He is a company member of Candlelight Opera.

Chris is currently touring in a production of Don Pasquale, playing the title role, and in a cabaret revue with soprano Jayne Strand: Noël Coward and Gertrude Lawrence – Together with Music.
