About Natalie Matsov-Evans

Estonian-born Natalie studied at the Estonian Music Academy where she graduated with a 'Master of Music' diploma in 1986 to continue her studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Academy of Music with Zourab Sotkilava.

Her first operatic role was as Adina in Donisetti's opera L'Elisir d'Amoure with the State Tallinn Opera. She has also performed Contessa Micaela and Luisa. During this period she was invited to join the Tallinn Philharmonic Orchestra as a soloist and with them she toured extensively singing operatic arias as well as the Verdi and Mozart Requiems.

In 1989 she was invited to sing with Potsdam's Symphonic Orchestra, with broadcasts on Moscow and Tallin television, and even today performs regularly in St Petersburg and Moscow.

Natalie is also an accomplished recital singer with successful performances of Russian romances in Munich in 1995 and other recitals featuring Schumann's Frauenliebe and Leben cycle.

Most recent performances have included Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in London, Beethoven's concert aria Ah Perfido in Estonia and Bach's B minor Mass in Moscow. Future engagements include two Wagner arias in concert at Tallin this summer and singing Abigail in Nabucco with the Riverside Opera.

Since settling in England, Natalie has continued her studies with Norman Bailey and now with Ann Howard.
